The grant scheme for insulation aims to reduce the carbon footprint and to help people reduce their heating bills. You can save as much as 45% on your annual heating bill just by having your house fully insulated. Not only does it help keep your house cool in the summer and warm in the winter, but it also prevents condensation and provides a good thermal resistance.
FREE Loft And Cavity Wall Insulation Grants Criteria
You must be either a home owner or a private tenant.
If you are a private tenant you must have permission from your landlord.
The existing insulation in the loft must be less then 60mm deep.
There has to be an easy access into the loft and standing space.
If there is storage or boarding in the loft we need to be able to insulate at least 2/3 of the loft.
For cavity wall insulation we need to insulate at least 2/3 of the exterior walls.
For mid terrace properties built with cavity walls there has to be enough space for a van to get to the back of the house to enable us to insulate the back of the house.
If somebody living in the property receives tax credits or benefits or somebody living at the property is over the age of 70 you need to provide proof to the surveyours.
